Light Bulbs

Light Bulbs

Light bulbs produces light by heating a metal called filament. The electric current forces its way through the thin part of the circuit and the filament will glow and gives light to the bulb.

Make it work

Light bulbs comes in different size and shape. The glass of a light bulb is very delicate, if you are trying to collect different light bulbs make sure to keep it in a safe place or in a special box.

You will need

  • old light bulbs
  • scissors
  • glue or tape
  • cardboard
  • ruler

Procedures:

  1. Choose the size of the box you want. Then cut it out in a flat shape.
  2. Fold the cardboard along the dotted lines. Tuck in the corner flaps and glue or tape them together.
  3. Carefully cut star-shaped slits in the top of the box. Press the ends of the bulbs down into the centers of the stars. Make sure that the bulbs fit firmly.
  4. Label your collection. Mark whether each bulb has a filament or a fluorescent tube and also how bright it is. You can tell the brightness of a bulb from the number of watts (W) of power that it uses.
